Russell Jones
Russell Jones, 65, of Lawson Street, Williamsburg, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Baptist Health in Corbin.
He was born on November 9, 1950 in Jellico, TN to the late Mart E. Jones and Jettie (Cooper) Jones.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Owens. He was a Charter Member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. He is a retired Police Officer and Chief of Police for the City of Williamsburg.
He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret (Johnson) Jones of Williamsburg; his son, Mart E. Jones (wife Aimee) of Williamsburg; three daughters, Carla Wolfe (husband Darryl) of Cincinnati, Rhonda Floyd (husband David) of Corbin, and Anita Petrey (husband Mark) of Corbin; seven grandchildren, Scarlett Sexton (Jamie), Samantha Lee, Jordan Floyd, Dylan Karrick, Derek Jones, Daniel Jones, and Andrew Jones; great granddaughter, Katie Sexton; sister, Sara Jane Dean (Wilbert) of Williamsburg; brother-in-law, Scott Johnson of Williamsburg; Niece Andrea Watts (Mark), nephews: Mark Canada (Amanda) and Brandon Dean, and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Thursday, September 8, at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, September 9, at the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Rob Powers, Dr. Jerry Huffman, and Rev. James Hodge officiating.
He will be laid to rest in the Davis Addition of Highland Park Cemetery.
The Williamsburg Police Department and Judge Dan Ballou will serve as pallbearers. Johnny Philpot, grandsons, nephews, cousins, the Whitley County Sheriff Department and other relatives will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
