Williamsburg Independent School adds new vehicle to fleet
Williamsburg Independent School officials unveiled the newest addition to the Jacket fleet Tuesday morning, a 2018 Chevy Traverse, which was purchased with coal severance funds.
Superintendent Dr. Amon Couch noted this is a testament to the great partnership between local county government and the district’s food service department.
The vehicle will be used for transporting small groups of students or small teams during the school year.
The food service department will utilize it during the summer for the summer feeding program.
“Thanks to State Representative Regina Bunch Huff, Judge-Executive Pat White, Magistrate Scotty Harrison, Transportation Director Jason Prewitt and Food Service Director Diana Mayne … So excited for our kids to have such an awesome resource,” Couch noted.
