Tues Night Highlights: High School Basketball Results for Jan. 22, 2019
Several important district contests took place in the coverage area Tuesday.
Whitley County played host to a double header with crosstown rivals Williamsburg, and it was a good night for the Colonels. The Whitley girls won 79-52 in game one, followed by the boys team winning a close one, 52-50, in the nightcap.
With the win, the Lady Colonels improve to 6-15, 1-3 on the year while the Lady Jackets fall to 11-8, 1-2. The Colonel boys now stand at 13-9, 1-3 and the Yellow Jackets find themselves at 10-9, 0-3.

Next up for the Whitley girls will be an away game at North Laurel High School this Friday, Jan. 25 at 7:30 p.m. The Williamsburg girls will travel to London on Thursday for another 50th District contest when they play South Laurel, also at 7:30 p.m. The Whitley boys will host Clay County Friday at 7:30, and the Williamsburg boys will play at South Thursday at 6:00 p.m.
In other action Tuesday, the Corbin Redhounds fell to South Laurel in London by the final score of 60-39. That drops them to 13-5, 2-2 ahead of another away game Thursday at Knox Central High School in Barbourville. Tipoff time for this highly anticipated matchup between two heated 13th Region rivals is set for 7:30 p.m.
