Tues. Night Highlights: 50th District Baseball, 4/23/19
After Tuesday night’s high school baseball action, the standings are set in the 50th District.
Monday night games, April 22
Williamsburg at Corbin: Corbin wins 12-2. Nate Steely and Evan Poore team up on mound for the Redhounds to strike out seven Yellow Jacket batters. Mason Manning and Casey Kysar had trouble pitching to Corbin, with Noah Taylor going 3-for-4 at the plate and Garner Chandler going 2-for-2. Sydney Bowen was the top Jacket batter, going 2-for-3 on the night.
South Laurel at Whitley County: Whitley wins 14-7. Senior Colonel Caleb Rains impresses by going 3-for-4 at the plate with a total of four RBIs. Teammates Chance Dismuke, Dylan Giles and Kyle Graham teamed up on the pitching mound against the Cardinals. Dismuke also went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Jake Prewitt went 2-for-2 with three RBIs, and Luke Stanfill finished with an additional three RBIs.
Tuesday night games, April 23
Corbin at Williamsburg: Corbin wins 15-3, improving to 14-6 on the season. Senior Chase Estep led the way for the Redhounds, going 4-for-4 at the plate with 5 RBIs.
Whitley County at South Laurel: Whitley shuts out South, 10-0. Jimmy Green pitched a complete game for the Colonels, as Clay Shelton went 3-for-4 in his at-bats with a total of three RBIs. Jonathon Wastson went 2-for-3 with three RBIs for Whitley. The Colonels now stand at 15-6 overall.
