State Rep. Regina Huff Appointed Chairwoman of House Education Committee

Regina Bunch Huff is the 82nd District State Representative.
Representative Regina Huff of Williamsburg has been chosen by House Leadership to chair the House Education Committee for the next two years.
“I am honored and humbled to have the confidence of my leadership to lead this critical committee and fight for a quality education for all children in the Commonwealth,” said Rep. Regina Huff. “We have significant issues on the education front that must be tackled, and I look forward to working diligently to promote policies that strengthen learning opportunities for all.”
A retired special education teacher, Huff previously served as chairwoman of the House Budget Review Subcommittee on Primary and Secondary Education and Workforce Development, which plays a key role in setting the Commonwealth’s budget. In this role, Huff successfully fought to restore funding cuts proposed by Governor Bevin in the 2018 budget, as well as to increase base per-pupil classroom funding to the highest level in history
The House Education Committee is responsible for matters pertaining to primary, secondary and higher education, as well as school curriculum, vocational education, and more.
“Whether it be K-12, postsecondary or technical education, I consider all forms of education to be of critical importance to the well-being of our families, children, and society,” added Huff.
The General Assembly convenes for the 2019 session on January 8.
