Trimble agrees to reduce murder charge
Prosecutors formally agreed in court Tuesday morning that they were going to amend a murder charge to first-degree assault against a Williamsburg man in connection with the 2015 stabbing of his former stepfather.
William “Creed” Keisling, 42, was initially charged with attempted murder in connection with the Feb. 24, 2015, stabbing of Sidney L. Satterfield, 59. The charge was upgraded to murder after Satterfield died on March 2, 2015, only hours after being released from the hospital.
The autopsy report has since showed that the victim died of natural causes.
Whitley Circuit Judge Dan Ballou scheduled a July 13 trial in the case during Tuesday’s brief court hearing.
