Jack Stanfill
Jack Stanfill, 68, of Williamsburg, passed away Monday November 28, 2016 at his home.
He was born February 28, 1948 in Valley Creek, TN, to the late James Harrison Stanfill and the late Flossie Mae Owens Stanfill.
He was a Mason, a Shriner, and an honorary lifetime member of the VFW Post 3167.
He attended Grace Christian Fellowship. Jack was director of financial aid at Cumberland College for 36 years where he helped many thousand Appalachian kids.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Sue Stanfill, Mary Ellen Strunk, five brothers, Charles Stanfill, Ted Stanfill, Ronnie Stanfill, Roger Stanfill, and Paul Stanfill.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Dianne Smith Stanfill of Williamsburg; daughter Teresa Head (David) of Somerset; two sons, John David Stanfill (Regina) of Williamsburg, Darin Stanfill of Lexington; two granddaughters Adaleah Stanfill, Deavon Cockrell (Tim); two great grandsons, Louis Cockrell, Theo Cockrell; three sisters, Alberta Whited of Sandusky, OH, Jimmie Manning of Williamsburg, Ruth Ann Boyd (John) of Goshen, OH; three brothers, Jay Stanfill (Lavada) of Oneida, TN, Bill Stanfill (Barbara) of Greenwood, SC, Gary Stanfill (Mary Ann) of Williamsburg; mother-in-law Bessie Smith of Williamsburg; two special brothers, Eddie Manning (Kay) of Williamsburg, Bob Jones (Thelma) of Williamsburg, several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services were held Saturday December 3, at the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Gerald Mullins and Rev. Rob Powers officiating.
Following the service he was laid to rest in the Ellison Addition of the Highland Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers were; Aaron Brock, Alan Newman, Chad Manning, Everett Neal Rush, Kaine Smith, Kenny Joe Croley, Mason Manning, Micheal Dylan Rose-Creekmore, Nathan Johnson, Robbie Jones, and Tyler Ayers.
