High School Baseball/Softball Update for Tues, April 25
The following are scores and updates from Tuesday night high school baseball and softball games…
The Corbin Lady Hounds suffered their first district loss of the season Tuesday, falling to visiting Williamsburg 7-5. With the loss, Corbin now stands at 12-4, 4-1. They will go on the road to face Clay County Thursday. Williamsburg (7-5, 2-3) will be back in action at Lynn Camp High School Wednesday.
Speaking of Lynn Camp, they defeated Bell County at home Tuesday 19-9 to improve to 10-7 on the year.
And the Whitley County Lady Colonels did not fare well in their 50th District road game at South Laurel Tuesday, falling to 3-11, 0-5 on the year after a 19-2 loss. They will hope to turn things around Thursday when they host Middlesboro.
In baseball action, the Corbin Redhounds were able to improve to 13-4, 4-1 on the year with a 5-1 defeat of visiting Whitley County (8-11, 1-4). These two district rivals will square off once again in the rematch tomorrow evening at WCHS.
In other 50th District news, the Williamsburg Yellow Jackets traveled to London Tuesday and picked up a 9-4 victory over South Laurel in game one of a double header. However, South was able to bounce back and take game two by the final score of 13-0. After the win and the loss, Williamsburg now stands at 9-8, 2-4 on the year ahead of an away game at Jackson County this Friday.
Finally, the Lynn Camp Wildcats were able to secure a victory over a 51st District opponent Tuesday when they traveled to Pineville and picked up the 10-3 win to improve to 11-7, 1-2 on the year.
