Corbin Police searching for masked man seen peeking into cars
Corbin Police are asking for the public’s help to find a man who was seen peeking into cars at a local church and may be involved in a series of thefts.
Corbin Police Detective Rusty Hedrick said the individual is described as a white male, 5’7” to 5”8, with a thin build and balding hair.
Reports from residents indicate the man is driving a silver pickup truck, possibly a Chevrolet full-sized model.
“We had at least four reports about this individual within a couple of hours yesterday (Wednesday),” Hedrick said.
According to Hedrick, the man pulled into the driveway of a residence on Poplar Street, asking the resident if a motorcycle was for sale.
“When said it wasn’t, he then asked about a bicycle and when she said no, he left in a hurry,” Hedrick said, adding the resident said the man appeared to be really nervous.
Hedrick said police were called to Immanuel Baptist Church Wednesday night after the man was reportedly seen looking into cars.
Another complaint about the individual came from a residence on Pageant Street.
“We are not really sure what his motive is,” Hedrick said, adding that the individual has not brandished any type of weapon.
Hedrick said police have responded to three complaints within the last few days that things such as lawn furniture and other items have been stolen off of front porches.
Anyone who sees the man or the truck is asked to contact Corbin Police at 528-1122.
