Cattlemen’s Association contributes $1,500 to FFA Chapter of WCHS
Following their long-standing tradition of supporting youth involved in agriculture, the Whitley County Cattlemen’s Association voted at their January meeting to contribute $1500 to the FFA Chapter of Whitley County High School.
When asked how the donation would be used, Aaron Gibbs, FFA President replied, “It costs a lot of money to send our officers and delegates to region and state leadership conferences. That’s probably where the bulk of it will be spent.”
In making the presentation to the club, Eskridge Shelton, Cattlemen’s President commented, “ We’re always pleased to be able to support our local students who are preparing to be the farmers and agriculture leaders in the next generation. I’m sure the money will be put to good use.”
The Whitley County Cattlemen’s Association is a local organization that assists farmers with the multitude of activities surrounding raising cattle and managing a farm.
Anyone with an interest in farming or raising cattle are encouraged to become a member. More information may be obtained at the Whitley County Extension Office or any member of the Cattlemen’s Association.
