Boston Elementary receives Lowe’s $5,000 Toolbox for Education grant
Boston Elementary School recently received a $5,000 Lowe’s Toolbox for Education grant for an Outdoor Classroom for their students. The grant application was based on the goal of improving student learning.
The Outdoor Classroom project will benefit the children of Boston in grades K-6 by giving them the opportunity to participate in outdoor learning activities. Outdoor metal tables with benches were purchased to allow teachers to take their class outside and teach a lesson, participate in discussions, and engage in experiments.
“Our school will greatly benefit from this grant. We wish to thank our friends at Lowe’s for generously supporting this important project for our students,” said Genia Rose, teacher at the school and grant writer.
All K-12 public schools in the United States are eligible for the Toolbox for Education program. More information is available at www.ToolboxforEducation.com.
