Williamsburg man facing robbery charge

A Williamsburg man is facing a robbery charge after allegedly breaking into a man’s home earlier this month and threatening to kill him and other family members in addition to burning the home down, according to court documents.

Whitley County Sheriff’s Deputy Jason Strunk arrested Lalo Hill, who is also identified in court records as Lalo Kilbury, about 10:29 p.m. Sunday at his Cowbell Lane residence, and served him with an arrest warrant charging him with second-degree robbery.

The warrant, which was obtained by Todd Streetman, alleged that on July 17, Hill/Kilbury and another man, who hasn’t been arrested in connection with the incident, used or threatened the use of physical force with the intent to accomplish a theft, according to the warrant.

Hill/Kilbury allegedly pushed his way into Streetman’s home, taking anything he wanted and told Streetman that if he called the police, then Hill/Kilbury and the other individual would kill him, his daughter and his mother, and would burn down Streetman’s home with everyone in it, according to the warrant.

Hill/Kilbury pleaded not guilty during his arraignment Monday afternoon in Whitley District Court.

Judge Cathy Prewitt appointed the public advocate’s office to represent Hill/Kilbury, set a July 30 preliminary hearing in his case and left his bond set at $7,500 cash.
