42-year-old accused messaging teenage girl nude pictures, offering money for sexual act
A Wednesday morning preliminary hearing has been scheduled for a Williamsburg man, who was arrested on Christmas Eve after allegedly sending nude pictures to a teenage girl and offering to pay her money to engage in a sexual act, according to court documents.

Randy Claxton is accused of sending nude pictures to a teen, and offering her money to engage is a sex act.
Williamsburg Police Officer Greg Rhoades arrested Randy Dale Claxton, 42, of Levi Lay Road, charging him with first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor-illegal sex act with a person under 16 years of age, possession of drug paraphernalia, distribution of obscene matter to a minor, and prohibited use of an electronic communication system to procure a minor-peace officer for a sex offense.
Rhoades arrested Claxton about 9:43 p.m. at Briar Creek Park.
Police earlier received a complaint about Claxton allegedly messaging obscene messages to the female juvenile, and that he had made arrangements to meet her at Briar Creek Park, according to his arrest citation.
The messages included three pictures of him exposing his penis, and the messages were sent to the phone of the juvenile over Facebook Messenger, the citation stated.
When Claxton was arrested, he had five needles in his possession, Rhoades wrote on the citation.
According to his arrest warrant, on Sept. 28, Claxton allegedly sent a message on Facebook Messenger “offering money to the juvenile to engage in a sexual act.” At the time the victim was 13 years old, and Claxton was 42.
In the arrest citation, the victim’s age is listed as 14 years old.
Williamsburg Police Chief Wayne Bird said the victim recently turned 14.
Claxton is being held in the Whitley County Detention Center.
Whitley District Judge Fred White entered a not guilty plea for Claxton during his arraignment Thursday afternoon.
White appointed the public advocate’s office to represent Claxton, and set a $25,000 cash bond in his case. If Claxton posts bond, he will be required to be on home incarceration, have no contact with the alleged victim, and not be within 1,000 feet of her residence.
