Workout Anytime targeted by burglars early Monday
A new Corbin business has yet to open its doors to the public and it has already been a burglary victim.
Officials with Workout Anytime Corbin in the Forest Hills Shopping Center said a man and woman broke into the neighboring storefront Monday morning. The area is being used as an office while the gym is under construction. Two iPads, a laptop and an undisclosed amount of cash were stolen.
Caroline Hendy, who co-owns the facility with Doug Ladd, said perpetrators got in through a back door about 2:15 a.m.
While the iPads had been used to sign up new members for the gym, officials said the thieves would need specific usernames and passwords for specific programs to access anyone’s information.
“That part is safe,” officials stated in response to questions posed on Facebook about the incident.
Neighboring business owners offered assistance to help aid efforts to identify the perpetrators.
Hometown Bank officials stated they were reviewing their surveillance cameras to see if they captured anything of value.
