Willis S. Worley Jr.
Willis S. Worley, Jr., 71, of the Big Cane Creek community of Whitley County, passed away Friday evening, April 13, 2018 surrounded by his family.
He was born on May 20, 1946 to the late Willis S. Worley and Naomi Lawson Worley in Jellico, TN. He was the grandson of the late Jim Worley and Nannie Powers Worley and the late Lindsay Lawson and Minnie Crawford Lawson.
In addition to his parents and grandparents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth Worley, James Otis Worley, Glen Worley and Larry “Footsie” Worley; sisters, Lois Worley and Carolyn Worley Lawson; ex-wife, Sue Daily Worley.
He is survived by four daughters, Linda Rená Worley Thornton, and husband, Jim, Tammy Sue Worley Lawson, and husband, Tim, all of the Big Cane Creek community of Whitley County, Shelly Daily Osenbaugh and Connie Daily, both of Somerset; ten grandchildren, Ginger Goins, Sylvia Powers, Shaina Henry, Stevie Parmley, Harley Foore, Timothy Lawson, Jr., Ronnie Osenbaugh, Jimmy Thornton, Jr., Gladys Thornton, Brandon Barnett; eleven great-grandchildren, Joshua Goins, Jailee Goins, Hayden Parmley, Blake Powers, Landan Henry, Sailor Parmley, Kyson Lawson, Bella Henry, Ezekiel Parmley, Erich Wallace, Jr., and Kyla Lawson; ex-wife, Linda Marie Worley Adkins; special nephew, who was like a son, Larry “Pooch” Worley; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends and other relatives to mourn his passing.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 17, at 2 p.m. at the Cox & Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tyler Jones and Rev. Ewell “Jam-up” Lawson officiating.
The burial immediately followed at the Lawson – Worley Cemetery on Red Hill in the Big Cane Creek community of Whitley County, KY.
Mike Davis, Shawn Lawson, Tim Lawson, Chris Powers, Jim Thornton, and Larry “Pooch” Worley served as pallbearers.
Cox & Son Funeral Home of Jellico is in charge of all arrangements.
