Willie Franklin Rains

Willie Franklin Rains, 68, of Corbin, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at the Lexington VA Medical Center.

He was born on September 6, 1948 in Whitley County, to the late James Marion Rains and Elsie (Smith) Rains.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Ernest Martin Rains.  He was a Veteran of the United States Army and a member of White Oak Baptist Church.

He is survived by his two sons, Joseph Rains (Valarie) and Billy Rains of Williamsburg; daughter, Kassie Karr-Rains of Corbin; five grandchildren; three brothers, Martin Rains and wife Wanda of Corbin, James Ed Rains and wife Karen of Williamsburg and Delmer Rains and wife Yong Hi of Goshen, Ohio; three sisters, Mary Gilmore and husband Jim of Houston, Texas, JoAnn Canada of Williamsburg and Florine Bonkowski and husband Don of Elizabethtown; very special friend, Clayton Yates of Corbin; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.

He will be laid to rest following a private graveside service on Monday, January 16, at the Young Cemetery.
