Williamsburg’s Makayla Mack crowned, ‘Miss NIBROC’

Makayla Mack of Williamsburg was crowned Miss NIBROC 2018 Saturday night.

Mack, the daughter of Craig and Joy Mack, is a 2017 graduate of Williamsburg High School and currently attends Western Kentucky University where she is majoring in exercise science.

“I have been coming and watching the pageant for years, since I was a little girl, so it really is a dream come true to represent our Tri-County area at Miss Kentucky,” Mack said.

Mack took first place in the evening gown and interview portions of the competition.

Mack will go on to compete in the Miss Kentucky Pageant in 2019.

Her first public appearance as Miss NIBROC will be on Thursday during the annual parade.

Mack said Saturday night marked just the second pageant she has entered. The first was Miss NIBROC 2017.

“You never know. You just have to trust in the Lord and always try your hardest,” Mack said when asked if she came into the competition thinking she could win.

“I am ecstatic,” she said.

During her reign as Miss NIBROC, Mack, who is working to become a physical therapist, said she will be working to promote science, technology, engineering and math as career paths available to girls.

First runner-up is Savannah Moore. Moore took first place in the swimsuit competition and was also named, “most photogenic.”

Second runner-up was Cora Bo Stevens.

Katelynn Johnson was named Miss Congeniality as voted upon by the contestants.
