Williamsburg Police want public’s help in finding burglary suspect

The Williamsburg Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a suspect believed to be responsible for four vehicle break-ins and one residential burglary early Friday morning.
Williamsburg Police Chief Wayne Bird said the suspect was captured on security camera video between 5 5:30 a.m. Friday attempting to use a stolen ATM card outside Community Trust Bank’s downtown location.
All the burglaries happened early Friday morning in the South Third Street area.
Bird said the thief took mostly minor stuff from the vehicles except for a $3,000 trombone that was in one vehicle.
At the residence, the thief took an ATM card, a handgun, $200 in change, a PS3 and few other small items.
Bird said police have a "pretty good lead" on the suspect.
"We don’t have enough to make an arrest yet, but we are pretty confident we know who it is," Bird added.
Anyone with information can call 549-6017 or 549-6038.
Additional photos of the suspect can be viewed on the Williamsburg Police Department’s Facebook page.
