Williamsburg man suffers serious injuries in Friday crash

Rescue officials take 20-year-old Lonnnie Hamblin to an awaiting medical helicopter Friday. He was airlifted from Briar Creek Park in Williamsburg to the University of Tennessee Medical Center following a car crash on Hwy. 1064.
A man had to be flown by emergency medical helicopter to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment following a two-vehicle wreck about noon Friday.
Williamsburg Fire Chief James Privett said Lonnie Hamblin, 20, was flown out by Air Evan Lifeteam from an emergency landing zone set up at Briar Creek Park to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment. Hamblin suffered multiple injuries and head trauma during the crash.
Whitley County EMS Director Kelly Harrison said the two vehicle wreck happened near the intersection of Highway 904 and Highway 1064.
The Whitley County Sheriff’s Deputy Todd Shelley is investigating the accident.
