Williamsburg man arrested for making meth at his home

A Williamsburg man is being held in the Whitley County Detention Center in lieu of a $50,000 cash bond after being arrested by sheriff’s deputies late Monday evening for manufacturing methamphetamine.

About 10:06 p.m., Sgt. Tim Baker, Sheriff Colan Harrell and Deputy Joe Prewitt went to Casey L. Moses residence located at 5613 Ben Jones Loop after an informant provided information that methamphetamine was being produced at the residence, according to a sheriff’s department press release.

When deputies arrived, there was an open window in the back of the house and a strong smell of chemicals around the house, Baker wrote on the arrest citation.

Baker and Harrell then entered the residence, which is located south of Williamsburg, and spotted Moses on the stairway with what appeared to be a bag, which he eventually told police contained methamphetamine, authorities said.

A Kentucky State Police Drug Enforcement Special Investigations team responded to the residence to neutralize the meth making operation, according to the release.

Moses, 42, was lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center on a first offense manufacturing methamphetamine charge.
