Williamsburg Falls in State Title Game
Posted On 06 Dec 2013
Two out of three ain’t bad for coach Jerry Herron’s Williamsburg Yellow Jackets in 2013. They repeated as district champions and they won their first ever regional title, but unfortunately, they couldn’t get the job done in the state championship game against a very expereienced Mayfield Cardinals team.
Mayfield went up 35-0 on the Jackets in the first quarter, and they never looked back from there, cruising to a 42-0 final score and their third state title in the last five years.

Wow! What a great Jacket team. We can all look upon the 2013 Jacket team with pride. The 2013 Jacket’s are number (2) in Kentucky Class A football.
I congratulate both teams. Next year the Jacket’s will win the State title. For about 80 years our football team has tried to get to the state playoffs and now you guys the “2013 Jacket’s” took us. Mayfield would tell all it takes time to win a State Title. I can see us playing Mayfield again in years to come. Mayfield Cardinals you ate our Jacket’s this time just maybe the next time around we’ll sting your Cardinal’s. Coach Herron, your not only a fantastic coach, but you set wonderful examples for our player’s to live life by.
