Willard Siler
Willard Siler, 83, of the Meadow Creek Community in Rockholds, departed this life on July 11, 2018 at the Barbourville Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was the son of W.B. (Bill) and Bessie Siler born just after midnight on January 28, 1935, his twin brother Bert was born before midnight making them twins with different birthdays.
Mr. Siler was a graduate of Cumberland College and a veteran of the United States Army.
On May 23, 1959, he united in marriage to Jaola Prichard and their union lasted 50 years until her passing in 2009. From this marriage three sons were born.
He was a lifelong member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, and served as a deacon for many years. He was an employee of Siler Implement Company for 40 years and worked on his own farm raising tobacco, corn, cattle and pigs. He served 50 years on the Board of Directors for the Whitley County Farm Bureau.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jaola Prichard Siler; his siblings Joel Siler, Earl Siler, Lowell Siler, Nona Perkins, Opal Partin and IvaJean Campbell.
Survivors are his three sons, Tim Siler and wife Lisa of Meadow Creek, Mark Siler and wife Jenniefer, Jimmy Siler and wife Lisa all of Barbourville; three grandchildren, Kevin, Nathan and Anna; twin brother Wilbert (Bert) and wife Bessie of Meadow Creek; his church family from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church; his caregivers Charles and Sandra Roark, Vanessa Bunch, Susan Gray, Donna Huffman and Darlene Veach.
The funeral service was held Saturday, July 14, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ralph Jones and Rev. Jimmy Siler officiating.
Following the service he was laid to rest in the Prichard Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
