Willard Foley
Willard Foley, 92, of Prewitt Bend Road, Williamsburg, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at the Corbin Health and Rehab Center in Corbin, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on June 1, 1925 in Kentucky to the late Everett Foley and Delphia (Lay) Foley.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Louise (Bryant) Foley and his brother, Raymond Foley.
Willard was a member of Goldbug Baptist Church since 1949. Willard was a World War II veteran of the United States Navy. He was a retired machinist, an avid outdoorsman, and loved to hunt.
He is survived by his daughters, Donna Jean Colegrove and husband Michael of Fishers, IN and Deborah Faye Peace and husband, Junior of Williamsburg; three grandchildren, Kimberly Joyce (Matt) of Fishers, IN, Christopher Peace of Lakeland, FL, and Kayla Peace of Lakeland, FL; two great-grandsons, Jackson and William Joyce; two sisters, Lina Jo Wilson (Ron) of Williamsburg and Barbara Okumura (Dr. Yoshido) of Bonita Springs, FL; and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services were held at the at Goldbug Baptist Church on Sunday, November 5 with Rev. Doyle Lester, Rev. Ande Myers and Rev. Steve Mayle officiating.
He was laid to rest following the service at the Davis Addition of Highland Park Cemetery with Chris Okumura, Alan Hays, Alan Freeman, Jeff Sears, Jimmy Bates, Brandon Prewitt, Burton Richardson, Stuart Grant Mack, Elbert Douglas, and Dr. Michael Okumura serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Herb Petrey, Alvin Dunn, Clarence “T Bo” Siler, Paul Croley, Andy Croley, Clayton “Sonny” Hatcher, Jerry W. Croley, Dr. Bobby Turner, Lonnie Foley and Darrell Foley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Knox-Whitley Animal Shelter, 66 Busy Lane, Corbin, Kentucky 40701.
