Wildcats head to South Floyd

The tables have been turned on the Lynn Camp Wildcats. Last season the South Floyd Raiders came into Lynn Camp and were defeated 47-20. This week it will be the Wildcats traveling deep into Floyd County to take on the team from Hi Hat.
The Raiders ride a five-game winning streak, averaging 34 more points than their opponents. South Floyd is hitting on 50 points per game in the last five weeks while giving up just 16.4.
In the streak, the Raiders routed Fleming Neon 52-6, Jenkins 58-18, Hazard 56-20, Allen Central 60-22 and beat Paintsville 26-16 last week to take the number two seed. The Raiders are 5-1 in home games while Lynn Camp is 3-2 on the road.
South Floyd has two runners that ended the regular season with well over 1,000 yards. Wes Hall (4) has 17 touchdowns and 1341 yards while Joe Osborne (14) has 15 touchdowns and 1,482 yards.
Lynn Camp tuned up for the Raiders with a 59-12 thrashing of the Pineville Mountain Lions.
Junior Jimmy Chaffin ran for four touchdowns including a 73 yarder in the first quarter when the Wildcats roared out to a 31-0 lead.
Junior Josh Reynolds opened the scoring in the first quarter with an 11 yard run in the game’s opening minutes.
Chaffin then reeled off three TD’s in a row and a PAT to account for 19 points. His first touchdown came on a 38 yard run followed by a 14 yard score.
Junior quarterback Nick Scalf picked off a Pineville pass and raced down the field 44 yards .
The second quarter was left to the rookie, Joe Roskopf as the freshman scored on runs of seven and six. Chaffin added the extra points and the ”Cats led 45-0 at the half.
With the clock running throughout the second half, Chaffin added another touchdown in the third quarter on a 16 yard run and senior Billy Mabe scored on a 34 yard scamper to account for the two second half touchdowns. The Lions scored once in the third quarter and once in the fourth quarter to prevent a shutout.
