Who made all these rules for the Internet?

If you’ve stumbled by this site just by chance, DON’T FREAK OUT!

At least, don’t freak out like I have for the last several months. Our new website, www.thenewsjournal.net, is a LONG work in progress that will soon become the new and best source for online news in Whitley County. We intend to have all kinds of content available for our readers: stories, photos, special online only features, pictures that did not appear in the print edition, video, access to public documents, community forums, you name it! Also, for those that want it as an option, we will be offering the ENTIRE News Journal experience available to surf and read on the Internet for those who wish to subscribe to the electronic version. It is a fabulous option for our many out of state subscribers who often have to wait over a week for the postal service to get the newspaper to them. Now you can read the paper the day it comes off the press. How cool is that!

Get it all working properly has been like birth. OK, I wouldn’t know that first hand, but my wife told me it was difficult, and so is this, so the two can’t be too far removed from one another.

At any rate, visit often and enjoy the mess while we get things working right.
