Whitley County Historical and Genealogical Society to give away $500 pre-paid card during Heritage Day
The Whitley County Historical and Genealogical Society members met for their monthly meeting on August 14.
Those in attendance were: (standing) Librarian Mary Alice Siler, Vice President Justeen Wilson and Terresa Etter. Seated are Roy Siler, President Patricia Jones, Billie Parker and Treasurer Brenda Meadors. Two visitors had left when the photo was taken. They were Greg Sims and David Deskins.
It was decided that a $500 pre-paid card will be given away at Heritage Day on September 30th. Also Billie Parker donated beautiful handmade throws to sell and raffle.
Don’t forget to stop by the society’s booth at Old Fashioned Days on September 7th., 8th., and 9th. The society will be in their usual spot on the corner across from the Justice Center.
The society will have Maple Creek, Emlyn, Carr, Siler & Ryan Cemetery Books for sale. The Meadow Creek/Rockhold Book will also be on sale.
WCHGS is open on Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. and on the first and last Saturday of the month from 10:00 a.m. until noon.
