Whitley County Hires New Football Coach
On Friday afternoon, a press conference was held at Whitley County High School to announce Jason Chappell as the team’s new head football coach. Chappell will be the ninth head coach in the program’s history
Chappell has 14 years of high school coaching experience, seven of those as a head coach. Most recently, he was the offensive coordinator at Middlesboro High School.
Chappell led Campbellsville High School to a district title in 2009 as a head coach, and he has also been head coach at South Laurel and Perry Central.
Chappell said of being at Whitley County, "I’m thrilled to lead a football program with the history and tradition that we have here. I’m excited about the immediate potential of this program, and about what I believe Whitley football can become."
