Whitley County Fair pageants scheduled for Friday and Saturday
Whitley County will have a new queen after this weekend.
The 2021 Miss Whitley County Fair pageant is set to take place on Friday and Saturday at the Williamsburg Convention Center.
Competitors will compete in three areas: interview, swimsuit, and evening gown.
The interview will account for 40 percent of the ladies score with evening gown and swimsuit each accounting for 30 percent.
Contestants are expected to arrive at the convention center by 3 p.m. on Friday.
Interviews will begin at 4 p.m. and the remainder of the pageant will follow at 7 p.m.
No hair or makeup will be provided, and no vendors will be at the pageant.
The entry fee is $50 and can be paid at the door on the day of the pageant.
Contestants must be Kentucky residents.
The pageant is a qualifier for the Miss Kentucky State Fair Pageant.
The Miss competition will take place on Friday with Little Miss and Mister, Miss Pre-teen and Teen Miss all competing on Saturday.
The Little Miss and Mister competitors must be ages 5-7 and have had at least their fifth birthday but not their eighth by June 30. They will compete in casual wear/induction and onstage question.
Miss Pre-teen is for girls between the ages of 8 and 12. Contestants must be age 8 by July 1 and not yet age 13 by Oct. 31. They will compete in Evening Gown Competition, introduction, onstage question/ interview and fun fashion/runway
Teen Miss contestants must be age 13 by July 1 and not yet age 16 by October 31. Contestants will compete in evening gown competition, introduction, onstage question and fun fashion/runway.
A winner, first-runner up and second-runner up will be named for all of the categories.
