Whitley Co. grand jury returns sex abuse indictment against McCreary County man

The Whitley County Grand Jury indicted a McCreary County man on a sex-related charged Monday morning while returning its monthly report.
The grand jury indicted Ricky Ball, 54, of Pine Knot, charging him with first-degree sexual abuse.
From June 4 to June 5, 2020, Ball allegedly subjected the victim, who was under the age of 16, to sexual contact, according to the indictment.
The case was investigated by Kentucky State Police Detective Billy Correll.
According to its monthly report, the Whitley County Grand Jury handed down 16 indictments Monday morning, including:
- Owen Brock, 21, of Corbin – first-degree trafficking in a simulated controlled substance (MDMA), first-degree fleeing or evading police, resisting arrest, third-degree criminal mischief and possession of drug paraphernalia.
- Paul Jarvis, 50, Donald Barton, 60, and Shirley Garrett, 59, all of Woodbine – first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
- Timothy Curnutt, 46, of Williamsburg – first-degree wanton endangerment.
- Teddy Veach, 40, of Williamsburg – first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
- Lois Centers, 29, of Corbin – first-degree possession of a controlled substance (cocaine).
- Jason Jones, 40, of Barbourville – first-degree possession of a controlled substance (heroin).
- Madison Christian, 19, and Caleb Smiley, 20, both of Williamsburg – first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (cocaine), first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (LSD), trafficking in marijuana over eight ounces but less than five pounds, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Smiley was also indicted for possession of a handgun by a convicted felon (Highpoint 9 mm) and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (America S.A. rifle).
- Stephen Schwartz, 46, of Williamsburg – fourth-offense operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicants, and first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
- Jay Mayton, 43, address listed as homeless – first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
- Cecil Jones, 62, of Williamsburg – first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (Oxycodone), and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicants.
- Brenda Hill, 33, of Williamsburg – first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
- Amanda Gilreath, 37, of Williamsburg – first-degree possession of a controlled substance (drug not listed), operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicants, and first-degree promoting contraband.
- Kevin Trett, 26, of Corbin – theft by deception over $500 (allegedly took $5,500 to construct a pole barn that he did not build).
