White ordered to pay $3,295 restitution

A Williamsburg woman, who is already serving a 10-year prison sentence for manslaughter for her role in the killing of her two-year-old daughter in 2013, was ordered to pay $3,295 in restitution Monday morning for her role in an unconnected case.

Trina Michelle White, 38, had been scheduled to stand trial on May 17 in connection with a 2013 indictment that charged her with two counts of receiving stolen property under $10,000.

Instead, she pleaded guilty to both charges in exchange for prosecutors recommending a three-year prison sentence that is to be served consecutively, or in addition to her sentence in the manslaughter case.

Whitley Circuit Judge Paul Winchester followed the terms of the plea agreement Monday, and sentenced White to the additional three years in prison. In addition, he ordered White to pay $130 court costs and a $450 public advocate fee after she is released from prison.

White’s co-defendant, Jason Davis, pleaded guilty to the same charges in early 2014 and also received a three-year prison sentence, according to court records.

Between May 1 and Aug. 1, 2013, the couple allegedly had in their possession various items that were stolen from James and Janice Wren’s home. Some of the items were pawned at Diamond Jim’s Pawn and other items were pawned at Fast Cash Pawn, according to the indictments.

Davis was a former client of James Wren, who is a Williamsburg attorney. The Wrens had befriended Davis, whom they hired to do woodworking at their home.

The restitution amount represents what wasn’t covered by the Wren’s home owner’s insurance, prosecutors said in court Monday.

Davis and White were involved in a relationship and had a child together, Madisyn Davis, who was killed on Nov. 20, 2013, by White’s then boyfriend, Mark Shane Hyden.

Hyden pleaded guilty to murder in the girl’s death on June 29, 2015, in exchange for prosecutors recommending a 25-year prison sentence.

According to their indictments, Hyden and White individually and/or in complicity with another allegedly committed the offense of murder “by beating and asphyxiating the infant child resulting in her death.”

On Nov. 19, 2013, White left her daughter in Hyden’s care when she left for work at a third-shift job.

White called 911 about 1:40 p.m. on Nov. 20, 2013, after she found her child unresponsive.

White pleaded guilty on Jan. 20, 2016, to a reduced charge of second-degree manslaughter in exchange for the 10-year prison sentence.
