WCHS principal abruptly removed from job Tuesday, placed on administrative leave

Whitley County High School has a new person in charge at least temporarily, after its principal was placed on administrative leave.
On Monday morning, Principal Alan Sweet was placed on indefinite administrative leave with pay, said Superintendent Scott Paul.
Paul would not say what lead to Sweet being placed on administrative leave.

I personally think he did all the things he is being investegated for.. i wouldnt doubt any of it
Everyone’s saying he wouldn’t do such and he’s a good man.. Oh but yes he would it was on wkyt that he was involved with a juvenile and the Kentucky state police are doing an internal investigation. And everything’s out in the open and most of Whitley knows who the juvenile girl is but I am not putting it out on social media. It is sick of an educator to do such juvenile is under the age of 18.

I dont understand as to why this man this gentle and kind person is in the news. He is an upstanding individual with ties to the local community as well as to the many teenagers that have went and graduated from Whitley County High. It was said that there is an investigation into it. LISTEN UP PEOPLE nowadays there is always two sides to a story. There is the press that make a living to report a story then there is the person named in the story. The drama of what really happened helps no one if its hearsay. Now as we all can agree there are good people in this world and bad people. I believe Alan Sweet is one of the good guys but more often than not catches the pardon my french “**** end of the stick” because of his position.

Geez people read a whole story much!!! excellant GUY!! My kids graduated from Whitley and I hold him at highest standards, and no we’re not rich or in politics. Just proud my kids had such a wonderful role model as Mr Sweet

Everyone is saying he’s such a nice guy, but it doesn’t matter how nice he is if he committed a crime, he has to get punished just like the mean people. It’s completely fair. Still need to be certain on what happened though.
Yeah no one should say he should or should not have his job until it’s clear on exactly what happened….
Students are getting that he has had an affair with another teacher. Rumors maybe. But even our own teachers don’t know what’s going on.
We need Richard Prewitt (the old middleschool principal.) He was awesome!
I don’t know what is going on, but this is crazy! As long as he was there which was my Jr and SR years, he was amazing. So friendly and so professional. This is heart breaking and I hope they clear this up fast. This man doesn’t deserve this crap.
You all do realize that it doesn’t state anything he did wrong so you are going based on rumors and accusations so you really have no clue what you are talking about. Most of the people commenting here have a kid that’s been kicked out of school or to alternative. Or are druggies so really how are you going to say he did this or that when it hasn’t even been said. Alan is a great teacher/principal and amazing person all around.
I’m glad he has been removed as principle he wasn’t a very good one and I do believe he did what supposedly happened cause he is the biggest hypocrite I know!!!
Seriously is this news…someone did something wrong – mistake or not. This is not newsworthy – If criminal charges were warranted, they would have been. made ..anything is a personnel matter and why smear someone if you don’t know the whole story. Selling pills would have been criminal and so would have been the involvement with a student. Move on people, and news journal – get a story that is newsworthy before printing it. You did not print when a certain football coach at a certain local high school sent inappropriate text to – yes- a student. So get over yourself.
Your just mad because you got kicked out and sent to the alternative school. Alan is one of the nicest people I have ever met and the most honest person I have ever known. Nathan you just wanna talk about people because you are nothing but trouble. We all know all about you.

I Don’t know the Whole Story… But I think Mr. Alan Sweet is one of the Best Guys that I have ever Met. He is One of the Most Respected Teachers/Principles that I know. I agree with Brian Mckiney… He is Always at the ball games, and I see him at Wal-mart alot of times also. Seems Like a Great Guy to me. Best Wishes to Him either way. I Honestly Know He will Be Missed.
I do not believe Mr. Sweet done anything wrong & I honesty know this man & have for many years..he was a great teacher & was always there to help any student out. I pray for him & his famy as they clear everything out.
I honestly believe the school board is making a BIGG MISTAKE with this or-deal with Mr. Alan Sweet. This is the nicest man you will ever meet there’s NO WAY he could have done anything wrong. I see this man all the time I see him at the school, at the sporting events, at wal-mart, even in the grocery stores he’s always the same.
I strongly believe they should put him back on the job right away. All the students adore him and like them ask for yourself. Thank you
