WCHS Colonel Players host murder mystery at dinner theater in high school cafeteria
As the old saying goes, if life gives you lemons, then make lemonade.
A local high school drama program, which doesn’t have an auditorium and stages many of its productions in the high school cafeteria, is following a similar bit of lemonade logic with its next production.
Whitley County High School’s The Colonel Players will be hosting a dinner theater next week in the high school cafeteria about a play, which is a murder mystery that takes place at a dinner theater. It’s a comedy, said Whitley County drama instructor David Sweet.
Sweet said the dinner theater is a first for his program.
“Dinner at 8, Dead by 9,” was written by Michael Druce, and will be performed in the WCHS cafeteria on Friday, March 1 at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $10, which includes a spaghetti dinner, garlic bread, salad and dessert.
Tickets are available now and will all be presold until Feb. 28. To purchase tickets contact Sweet or any Whitley County drama student.
Tickets can also be obtained by emailing Sweet at david.sweet@whitley.kyschools.us, or by messaging the drama program through its Facebook page at Whitley Co. High School Drama.
