W’burg store sells first legal case of beer

Shortly after the final signage went up about 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, Stop & Save employees sold the first legal case of beer in Williamsburg to customer Tom Carroll.

The legal sale of alcohol by the package has begun in Williamsburg after two stores received their licenses Monday afternoon, and city officials think it will result in annual alcohol tax revenue that is in the six-figure range.
