W’burg police find heroin, meth in vehicle

Williamsburg police allegedly found heroin and meth in Cameron Lowry’s vehicle Oct. 3.

Williamsburg police discovered a Tennessee man passed out at a local gas station early Monday morning with heroin and methamphetamine inside his vehicle, according to a court document.

About 12:31 a.m. Monday, Williamsburg Police Officer Mike Taylor and K-9 Officer Elijah Hunter found Cameron Reid Lowry, 38, of Oliver Springs, passed out at the gas pumps at Grumpy’s BP off Exit 11, according to an arrest citation.

When officers went to check on Lowry, they smelled what they believed to be marijuana and asked Lowry if he had smoked any.

Lowry allegedly replied yes and pulled a small baggie out of his overalls, Taylor wrote on an arrest citation.

Police then received consent to search the vehicle, a white 2000 Pontiac, and discovered methamphetamine, heroin and “lots” of drug paraphernalia in the vehicle, according to another arrest citation.

Taylor charged Lowry with two counts of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance – methamphetamine and heroin, two counts of first-degree possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine and heroin, possession of marijuana, operating on a suspended/revoked operator’s license, no insurance and no/expired other state registration.

Lowry was lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center where he is being held in lieu of a $50,000 cash bond, according to the detention center’s website.
