W’burg man suffers minor injuries during Tuesday wreck

A Williamsburg man suffered minor injuries after his truck went in this ditch Tuesday morning on Cripple Creek Road.
A Williamsburg man suffered minor injuries following a single-vehicle crash Tuesday morning.
Shortly after 10:30 a.m., Glen Wilson, 59, was travelling south on Cripple Creek Road when another vehicle came over onto his side of the road, said Whitley County Sheriff’s Sgt. Todd Shelley, who was the investigating officer.
Wilson swerved his white Dodge Ram 1500 pick-up truck in order to miss the other vehicle, and went off the side of the road into a ditch. He was the only person in the vehicle.
Wilson complained of a lower back injury and planned to go to the hospital by personal vehicle, Shelley said.
“Just thank the good Lord it wasn’t worse than what it was,” Shelley added.
The wreck happened at the intersection of Cripple Creek Road, which is also known as Highway 836, and Ryan Cemetery Road and Lloyd Wilson Road.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
Members of Goldbug Volunteer Fire Department helped provide traffic control at the scene.
Sheriff’s Sgt. Jeff Anderson, Deputy Joe Prewitt and Third-District Constable Dorman Patrick Jr. also assisted at the scene.
The vehicle was removed from the scene by Bo’s Towing.
