W’burg man charged with drug possession
A Williamsburg man was arrested on charges of public intoxication, buying/possessing drug paraphernalia, position of a controlled substance and illegal possession of a legend drug.
Lawrence E. Brock, 58, was arrested at 11:30 p.m. on June 25 after, “a call in reference to a domestic,” was received by dispatch according to the arrest citation.
Officer Jason Strunk, of the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department, noted in the citation, “In plain view laying on a bowl was three blue and white packages with markings Suboxone 8mg/2mg. Believed to be Suboxone Film.
Suboxone Film is used by medical professionals to help individuals overcome opioid addictions according to the Center for Disease Control, CDC.
Several hypodermic needles were found inside the residence according to the arrest citation.
Brock is also cited to have allegedly been in possession of cocaine.
On December 8, 2017, Brock was indicted on charges of possessing a controlled substance, cocaine, and illegal possession of legend drug, Gabapentin.
Gabapentin is a treatment for neuropathic pain, according to the CDC.
Brock is being held in the Whitley County Detention Center on three separate bonds for three separate open and active cases totaling $37,500.
