A Williamsburg man is behind bars after a Whitley County Sheriff’s deputy found four grams of suspected methamphetamine in his vehicle, according to a sheriff’s department release.
About 6 p.m. on Jan. 15, Deputy Jonas Saunders was patrolling on Highway 1804 when he made contact with Travis Douglas, 34, in the parking lot of Jones Market, the release stated.
Police also found digital scales and several small baggies inside the vehicle.
Saunders charged Douglas with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance more than two grams, second-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Douglas was lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center.
Deputy Jason Strunk assisted with the investigation.
