W’burg FFA gets $5,000 grant

Williamsburg Independent School was recently awarded the “Rising Sun Initiative Grant” from the Kentucky Future Farmers of America (FFA) Foundation.
The grant provided $5,000 to jumpstart a brand new agriculture program.
“This grant will go towards establishing a strong foundation for the students of Williamsburg, allowing our chapter to attend the Kentucky FFA Convention, held in Lexington, and FFA Camp this summer, held at the Kentucky Leadership Training Center in Hardinsburg. We are so grateful for the investment that the Kentucky FFA Foundation has taken in our ‘small school doing big things,’ said Toraleah Shelley, who is the school’s first agriculture teacher.
This fall, Williamsburg High School started its first agriculture program.
