Way and Foley to be crowned Queen and Tiny Queen at the 2013 May Day Festival
When the Arena doors open this Friday evening for this year’s May Day Festival, those in attendance will have the opportunity to experience a milestone tradition: the 70th presentation of the event. Brooke Danielle Way will be crowned May Queen 2013 and Addyson Mae Foley has earned the title of Tiny Queen for this year.
A VIP Hospitality Room will be available during this year’s festival event for any May Day Queen or Tiny Queen from the past 70 years and any member of their royal courts. These Very Important People are invited to stop by the room between 6-8 p.m. for refreshments and a display of the Ossoli Club’s May Day archives.
Callie Elizabeth Quillen, May Queen 2012, will present the crown to Mayor Willard McBurney, who will crown Brooke Danielle Way the 2013 May Queen. Brooke, the daughter of John and Tina Way, will be escorted by Isaiah Wright, the son of Scott and Missi Wright.
Whitley Ella Hurst, Tiny Queen 2012, will crown Addyson Mae Foley. Addyson, the 5-year-old daughter of David and Jenny Foley, will be escorted by Gavin Hughes, the son of Ricky and Jenni Hughes.
The May Queen’s Court will consist of the following attendants:
First Attendant to the Queen is Sydney Paige Frederick, the daughter of Patrick and Sandy Frederick. Sydney will be escorted by Corey Taylor, the son of Roy and Susan Taylor.
Second Attendant to the Queen is Lauren Brooke Jones, the daughter of Guy and Kim Jones. Lauren will be escorted by Zachary Ingle, the son of Ted and Hallie Ingle.
Third Attendant to the Queen is Allyson Nicole Hoskins, the daughter of Kathy and Ralph Hoskins. Allyson will be escorted by Ethan Maguet, the son of Elizabeth Maguet and Jeff Maguet.
Fourth Attendant to the Queen is Jacqueline Elizabeth Noell, the daughter of Jason and Amber Noell. Jacqueline will be escorted by Saylor Razmus, the son of Greg and Suzie Razmus.
Fifth Attendant to the Queen is Kaitlyn Rebecca Waddle, the daughter of Creston and Becky Waddle. Kaitlyn will be escorted by Brad Mason, the son of Scott Mason and Becky Mason.
Sixth Attendant to the Queen is Hannah Rose Henegar, the daughter of Jason and Tami Henegar. Hannah will be escorted by Bradey Farris, the son of Kelley and Julie Farris.

Bryanna Kaylene Rachelle Claxton, the daughter of Teresa Claxton and Bryan McKeehan. Bryanna will be escorted by Colton Merritt, the son of Donna Merritt and Jack Hart.

Second Attendant to the Tiny Queen is Chloe Madison Sears, the 5-year-old daughter of Renee and Bobby Bailey and Jeremy Sears.
Third Attendant to the Tiny Queen is Macey Suzanne Disney, the 4-year-old daughter of Gary and Angela Disney.
Fourth Attendant to the Tiny Queen is Kylie Beth Cuel, the 4-year-old daughter of Daniel and Chrissi Cuel.

Flower Girls will be Olivia Faith Gregory, the daughter of Kristin and Steven Gregory, and Payton Aleece Taylor, the daughter of Holly and Stephen Taylor.
Trumpeteers, heralding the entrance of the Royal Court, will be Charles Reed Phillips, the son of Lisa and Matt Phillips, and Cole Michael Stevens, the son of Angel and Chad Stevens
Trainbearers for the Queen will be Maddox Seth Farmer, the son of Shannon and Missy Farmer, and Samuel Cager Elliott, the son of Kelley and the late Donnie Elliott.
Shane Romines of Copeland and Romines Law Office will serve as emcee for this year’s event.
Following the crowning ceremonies, the Courts will be honored by the presentation of the May Day program which will begin with the traditional winding of the May Pole, presented by the Gail Frederick School of Dance.
The Festival theme this year will be “Seven Decades of May Day” and students will be dancing to music popular during one of the decades, beginning with the 1940’s. Students from classrooms at Corbin Primary, Corbin Pre-School, St. Camillus Academy, and Little Lambs Pre-School will perform during the program.
The May Day Festival will take place this Friday, May 3, at the Arena. The event will begin at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6 p.m. All tickets will be for general admission, $6 for adults and $4 for children, and may be bought in advance from Ticketmaster or at The Arena Box Office. Tickets may also be purchased on the night of the event at The Arena Box Office, but those planning to attend are encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance to avoid waiting in line that evening.
The May Day Festival is presented each year by the GFWC KY Ossoli Club of Corbin and all proceeds are used to fund worthwhile community causes and classroom needs of the children participating in the event.
