WaterStep uses donations from Corbin to continue their important mission
Do you have shoes collecting dust at the bottom of your closet that you forgot existed? We’ve all been there. Thankfully, there is a great resource to use those forgotten shoes for good, and Corbin High School has taken advantage of this resource.
On May 26, a group of students from Corbin High School was seen transporting multiple bags full of donated shoes to WaterStep, making this their 10th Annual Shoe Drive. WaterStep is a nonprofit organization that sells shoes to an exporter and uses those funds to help bring water to those in need.
Shocking statistics reveal that 875 million people worldwide live without access to safe water. By donating shoes to this organization, you help fund safe drinking water projects worldwide.
In addition to funding water projects, donated shoes keep hundreds of tons of waste out of our landfills.
WaterStep accepts gently used shoes that are free of mold or mildew. Athletic shoes are preferred, but they accept all styles of shoes.
Although the deadline has passed to donate shoes to Corbin High School, you can still help with the cause. Corbin High School students are a great example of using WaterStep as a resource to impact the world positively.
