Wanda Ann Freeman
Wanda Ann Freeman, 84, of Hendersonville, TN passed away on Monday, April 15, 2019.
She was a loving wife, mother of two sons, and devoted grandmother to her three grandchildren, who she doted on and loved dearly.
Wanda was born in Dewitt, KY on February 12, 1935. She was the youngest child of Tressie and Dink Bowling and had three older brothers and one older sister. She grew up in Stinking Creek, KY and graduated from high school there. She attended Cumberland College in Williamsburg, KY; obtained her BS in Speech at University of Tennessee, Knoxville and her Masters Degree in Education at Union College in Barbourville, KY.
She married the love of her life, Billy Floyd (Bill) Freeman in 1956 and they were together for 63 years. Wanda and Bill lived most of their lives in Williamsburg, KY and raised their two boys there. They were active in the First Baptist Church and in the Community.
Wanda worked for many years as a Speech Language Pathologist in the Williamsburg City Schools. She later worked in Home Health visiting people in Whitley and surrounding counties. She loved helping her clients of all ages and worked hard to find innovative ways to help each individual.
Wanda will be missed by all who knew her. She was an independent thinker, hard worker and believed strongly in education. Wanda was always ready to share her home and a meal with visitors. Her blue eyes and big smile were infectious and she was generous with her hugs.
