Walter Gibbins

Walter Isaac Gibbins, 82, of Tidal Wave Road, Corbin,  passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Baptist Health in Corbin, Kentucky. He was born on March 19, 1934 in Williamsburg, Kentucky to the late Willie Gibbins and Grace (Ellis) Gibbins. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Rovena (Mayne) Gibbins; brothers, Ples Walker, Nat Walker, Estel Walker, Frank Walker and Charlie Gibbins.

He is survived by two sons, Donald “Don” Gibbins and David Gibbins and wife Teresa, of Corbin, Kentucky; daughter, Vivian Stephens and husband Roger of Corbin, Kentucky;six grandchildren, Kelly Brown, Clinton Stephens, Andy Stephens, Tarah Gibbins, Zachary Gibbins and Tyler Gibbins; five great-grandchildren, Ryligh Petrey, Maddie Brown, Sydney Stephens, Brayden Stephens and Mackenzie Brown; two sisters, Elsie Elias of Knoxville, Tennessee and Betty Meadors of Williamsburg, Kentucky; one brother, Tom Gibbins of Hazel Park, Michigan; special family friend, James Bennett of Rockholds, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.

Visitation will be after 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Croley Funeral Home.

The Funeral Service will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Vernon Jones and Rev. Matthew McKinney officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Slusher Cemetery.
