Virginia Adams Carroll
Virginia Adams Carroll, 100, of Corbin, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at her home.
She was born in Corbin on October 27, 1916 to the late Jim Adams and Amanda Jenkins Adams.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Carroll was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Carroll; four sons, Herschel, Shirley, Ronnie and James Carroll; a daughter-in-law, Judy Dykes Carroll; five brothers, Toby, Chess, Matt, Mark and William Adams.
She loved the Lord and taught her children of God’s goodness. She loved working in her flowers and vegetable garden, cooking, canning, and quilting.
Precious memories of their mother are left to three daughters and five sons and their spouses: Elmo and Edith Carroll of London, Harold Carroll of Lexington, Leo Carroll of London, Phyllis and Mike Walsh of Virginia, Gary Carroll of Corbin, Georgia and David Tyree of Corbin, Brenda and Steve McCoy of Ohio, and Curtis Carroll of Corbin; 19 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, as well as many nephews and nieces who she loved.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 12, at the Felts Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Billy Evans, Rev. Harold Sulfridge, and Rev. Brent Carroll officiating.
Burial followed in the Felts Chapel Cemetery.
