Venable-Nuskey announce marriage
Miss Brittney Nicole Venable of New York, N.Y., the daughter of Tina and Steve Venable of Williamsburg, the granddaughter of Dot and Loren Hooker of Corbin, the late Arnold Faulkner of Williamsburg and Betty and Benis (Red) Venable of Pineville, was married on Saturday, October 23, 2010 to Patrick Ford Nuskey of New York, N.Y. He is the son of the late Rebecca and Elwood Nuskey.
The bride donned an ivory gown by Alita Graham and custom Kentucky blue shoes by Anglea Nuran. The bridesmaid’s wore merlot dresses by Amsale.
The three day celebration including trips to Woodford Distillery and Keeneland Race Track culminated in the late autumn afternoon ceremony held at the Talon Winery & Vineyard in Lexington, Ky. The bride’s father escorted her down the aisle. Lara (Stancil) Brewer of Jackson, Ga. was the matron of honor for her best friend, while Mr. James Chandler Patrick of Athens, Ga. served as man of honor. Miss Elizabeth Gromek of Hoboken, N.J., Mrs. Colleen Nuskey Gilday of Glastonbury, Conn. and Miss Allie Venable of Somerset, Ky. were bridesmaids. Julia Snyder of Traverse City, Mich. was the flower girl.
Standing as groomsmen were David Asche, John Kelley, Brian Kelley all of New York and Todd Dixon of Morgantown, W.V. Charles Chimera of Greenwich, Conn. was the best man. Patrick and Nicholas Steinbauer of Leesburg, Va., the groom’s nephews, shared the ring bearer duties.
Guests were treated to live music by one of the couple’s favorite bands “Girls, Guns, And Glory” during the cocktail hour and then dined and danced their way into the night at the reception in Talon’s Ca”barn”et Barrel Barn.
Mrs. Dawn Steinbauer, the groom’s sister, of Leesburg, Va. and Ms. Cat Parker of Brooklyn, N.Y., a friend of the bride, read secular and spiritual selections for the bride and groom. The congregation was serenaded By Eric C. Skiles of Kingwood, Texas with his rendition of You Are my Home from the Broadway musical Scarlet Pimpernel.
A graduate of Williamsburg High School and Cumberland College, the bride is employeed by a Manhattan based hedge fund. Patrick, a graduate of West Preston High School, W.V., is employed by Sony DADC, based in Salzburg, Austria.
Following their Australian honeymoon, the couple returned to their New York City home.
