UPDATE: Victim of deadly Thursday crash in Corbin identified
An early morning accident at the intersection of Main and 21st Streets in Corbin has claimed the life of one of the drivers.
According to a press release sent out by Corbin Police Department Public Affairs Officer Rob Jones, Amy Miller, 28, of Corbin was fatally wounded when the 1998 Toyota Camry she was driving crossed the center line and was struck in the driver’s side by a 2004 Ford pickup driven by Adam Hoskins, 25, also of Corbin.
According to the release, Miller was traveling towards Corbin when she struck a separate truck, a 2002 Ford pickup driven by Paul Mills, 68, of Corbin before sliding into the path of the truck driven by Hoskins.
Emergency crews responded to the scene around 7:20 a.m. Thursday morning after the Corbin dispatch center received the call of a three-vehicle accident in that area.
Once crews arrived on the scene, Miller had to be extricated from the car by members of Corbin Fire Department. She was then transported to Baptist Regional Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
The Corbin Fire Department, along with the Corbin Police Department and an accident reconstructionist from the Kentucky State Police were on the scene for over two hours cleaning up the debris and logging information pertaining to the crash.
Mills was uninjured in the crash and Hoskins was treated for minor injuries at BRMC but was released shortly after.
The investigation is continuing by Cpl. Rob Hodge and Whitley County Coroner Andy Croley.
