Paul Brock
Corbin Police Captain Coy Wilson said the body of a man, was located in a wood area Monday afternoon. The property where the body was found adjoins property owned by 37-year-old Paul Brock, who is facing three counts of murder in connection with Saturday’s shooting.
“We knew he (Brock) had property off of Smith Cemetery Road,” Wilson said adding that police went to search the property because when Brock was interviewed Sunday, he had a significant amount of mud on his person.
“We were trying to find out where he got the mud on him,” Wilson said.
Wilson said the body was found in a shallow grave.
“It was just deep enough to put his face down in,” Wilson said. “The body was covered up with leaves in twigs.”
Wilson said based on the initial investigation, it appears the man was shot, though it remains undetermined how many times, or with what type of weapon.
Wilson said as part of the investigation, police had secured a search warrant for Brock’s pickup truck, which has been in police custody.
“We recovered blood inside the truck,” Wilson said adding that a sample has been since the Kentucky State Police Crime Lab in Frankfort for analysis.
Despite this new discovery, Wilson said police have still not determined a motive for the murders.
Brock remains in the Whitley County Detention Center on a $1 million cash bond.
Wilson said he would be charging Brock with a fourth count of murder later today.
Corbin Police and Whitley County Coroner Andy Croley are on the scene after a body was found in a wooded area off of Corinth Cemetery Road Monday.
Croley was called to the scene off of U.S. 25W about noon.
Wilson said the investigation is ongoing.
It may be connect to the triple homicide that occurred Saturday afternoon at a residence on Ellison Street.
