Upchurch concert will go on despite snow
Ryan Upchurch is in Corbin, and tonight’s show will go on as scheduled. For those who have tickets for Friday and can’t make it, they can be transferred to Saturday.
“There are people in town, so we made the decision for the show to go on,” said Arena Director Kristi Balla. “We don’t want the people that came from out of town to have to incur extra expense if we moved to Saturday.”
In order to transfer the tickets from Friday to Saturday, Balla said ticket holders should email a snapshot of the tickets to info@thecorbinarena.com. Put “Upchurch” in the subject line.
“We would prefer a snapshot of the tickets, but if someone can’t, then sent the name the tickets were purchased under, the section number, seat numbers and phone numbers and then they will get a confirmation back,” Balla explained.
“It is going to take some time because of the size of the crowd,” Balla said noting that Friday’s show was a full-house sell out meaning that 5,000 people were expected.
In addition, Balla said that ticket sales for Saturday’s show have been suspended until everyone seeking to transfer tickets has been accommodated.
“If we have any tickets remaining then we will release them for sale Saturday afternoon,” Balla said.
The show will begin Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
Balla said the road up to The Arena has been cleared of snow and crews from Corbin Public Works are in the process of clearing the snow from the parking lot Friday afternoon.
Balla said Upchurch is already in Corbin, and no matter how many fans make it Friday night he will perform.
