Two Whitley men arrested for growing marijuana

Two Whitley county men were charged with cultivating marijuana Wednesday thanks to tips from the community.
The Kentucky State Police post in London received information that led to the arrest of Christopher Hayes, 38 from Williamsburg and Benny Joe Leach, 67 of Williamsburg in two unrelated charges of cultivating less than five marijuana plants.
The marijuana plants suspected to be grown by Hayes were found on Ancil Leach Road in Williamsburg and the plants suspected to be grown by Leach were found on KY 1804 in the Saxton Community.
The lead investigator is Kentucky State Police officer TFC Fuson. Other KSP officers are assisting with the case.
