Two KSP troopers, former trooper indicted federally for civil rights violations, conspiracy
A federal grand jury in London has indicted two Kentucky State Police troopers and one former trooper in connection with the alleged excessive force arrest of a suspect during a 2020 incident in Whitley County, and then conspiring to cover up that excessive force, according to a release from the United States Attorney’s Office and court documents.

The Aug. 17 indictment charged KSP Trooper Jeremy D. Elliotte, 28, Trooper Michael Logan Howell, 32, and former Trooper Derrek Lovett, 30, in connection with the Aug. 18, 2020, arrest of Bradley L. Hamblin in Whitley County, who is the victim in the case, according to court documents.
