Two arrested after deputies respond to fight complaint outside Woodbine store

What began as a complaint of a domestic disturbance outside a Woodbine store Tuesday, ended in the arrest of two individuals on disorderly conduct and other charges.

According to Whitley County Sheriff Colan Harrell, deputies and Constable Ron Bowling arrested 26-year-old Clayton Fowler and 29-year-old Natasha R. Shoaf after locating the vehicle near the brickyard off of Ky. 26.

Harrell said Deputy James Fox noticed several firearms in view inside the car. In addition to Fowler and Shoaf, two children under the age of five.

When questioned about the alleged fight, Harrell said Fowler and Shoaf gave different accounts to law enforcement.

Harrell said Fowler appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. A search of Fowler’s person turned up a hypodermic needle.

In addition, Fowler reportedly misled deputies about his identity.

Fowler was charged with, first-degree disorderly conduct, possession of drug paraphernalia, giving an officer a false name/address and alcohol intoxication in a public place.

Shoaf had an active warrant for failure to appear in court and was taken into custody on that.

Harrell said after Shoaf was placed inside Deputy Joanas Saunder’s cruiser, she became violent, damaging the interior.

In addition to the warrant, Shoaf was charged with first-degree disorderly conduct, driving without a license and third-degree criminal mischief.

Fowler and Shoaf were each lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center.

Fowler was released on a $750 surety bond.

Shoaf was also released on a $750 surety bond.

The children were place into the custody of a family member.
